What is a Headstone? Is it the same thing as a grave marker?
Several terms are used to refer to graveside markers. These include headstone, gravestone, grass marker, flat marker, memorial, monument and tombstone.
What I need to do before I place my order?

What is the cost of a Headstone, Monument, Memorial, Upright or Grave Marker?
Pricing for headstones ordered through our custom Online Headstone Designer are listed below and include FREE Shipping and No Sales Tax.
The price for all of our other Headstoens styles and Benches can be found in our Catalog.
Do Flat Granite Markers include a base?
No, Flat Granite Markers do not include a base. Each flat granite headstone is a single piece with no base required. They are traditionally installed flush with the ground.
What is included in my purchase price?
All headstones, monuments and markers ordered through Headstones and Memorials include the following at one low price:
- Free Shipping to Anywhere in the Continental U.S. (Shippping to Alaska and Hawaii For An Additional Charge)
- No Sales Tax
- Personalized Lettering (No per letter charge)
- Large selection of graphics and designs
- Rush Service - The cost of this service is an additional $100.00, considerably less than an expedited shipping charge and still get's the stone to you much faster. The time to produce and receive your stone is decreased by up to one week.
- Expedited Shipping - Cost varies based on size, weight and time of delivery requested.
- All Multi-Piece Monuments and Benches are shipped unassembled, unless requested. The cost of factory assembly is $75.
- Custom Artwork.
- Ceramic Photo Tiles.
- Flat Markers from 12" x 8" - 24" x 12" are shipped via UPS Ground Delivery
- Larger headstones and monuments are shipped on a pallet through a trucking company due to their size and weight.
- Shipping times vary depending on shipping destination. Tracking information will be emailed to you once your order ships.
- During the ordering process, you select the artwork and text that will applied to your monument.
- Your selected artwork and text is then sandblasted into the granite.
- A coat of paint is applied to the sandblasted areas on the marker. All grey markers will be painted black and all other color markers will be painted white.

The cemetery that the headstone will be placed in may have a setting fee associated with installing your grave marker. This fee is determined by the cemetery and paid by you directly to the cemetery. Please contact your cemetery for more information.
How do I pay for my headstone or bench?
You may purchase all of the products from our site with: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal or PayPal eCheck. You do not need a PayPal account in order to pay for your order online. Simple select that option when you reach the payment screen. Our online credit card processing is handed by PalPal and is encrypted for your security. Do we have a printed catalog of our products?

How is my order being shipped?
How heavy is a granite marker?
Headstone weights vary depending on size and thinkness. The lighest being approximately 39 lbs and the heaviest nearly 2,600 lbs.
Can I see what my granite memorial will look like?
The Headstones and Memorials' Online Headstone Designer will show you a live preview of the gravestone all the way through the design process. Once you finalize your order, you will also receive an email confirmation with a link to view your final design. Orders placed through our Catalog, Specials Page, will work direction with one of our designers. A proof will be created and sent to you for final review and approval.
What happens if I need to make a change to my order?
Contact Us immediately with any changes that you require. Please note that any change to the order may result in an additional fee. The cost of the fee depends on the status of your order and may range up to the total cost of the order.
Does the cemetery need to approve the headstone?
Most cemeteries adhere to certain specifications that may include size, color and material of the marker. You should always check with your cemetery before placing an order.
How is the headstone produced?

Headstones can be shipped anywhere you specify including: Residences, Businesses and Cemeteries. NOTE: All flat grave markers ordered through our Online Headstone Designer include FREE Shipping, anywhere in the Continental United States. Contact Us for shipping costs to all locations outside the Continental United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Can I put a Rush my order?
Yes, however, we will need to be notified prior to placing your order and see if your timelines are possible. Rush charges and freight will apply and vary. Contact Us for a quote.
